About the Role

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a temp-to-hire, onsite-only opportunity with one of our Sacramento-based clients. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, accurate, and experienced in handling high-volume AP functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals

  • Match invoices to purchase orders and allocate costs to the correct GL accounts

  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including check runs and ACH payments

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain vendor files and update records as needed

  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve billing issues

  • Assist with month-end close tasks, including accruals and reporting

  • Support the accounting team with additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience

  • Familiarity with AP workflows, PO matching, and invoice coding

  • Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar

  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
